Tsukimi Extended Desk Mat

Tsukimi — moon viewing — is Hiroshige at his most still. A full moon hangs over the bay at Kanazawa, a line of geese crosses beneath it, and pine-covered spits reach out into pale water where boats sit at anchor. Another of his triptychs, so it already reads as a wide panorama.

Muted blue-greens and soft greys make it the most restrained piece in the collection, and the easiest to live with on a desk you work at every day. At 900 × 400mm the bay spans the full width.
