Koi Extended Desk Mat

Koi takes one of the oldest motifs in Japanese art — the carp climbing the waterfall, persistence eventually rewarded — and gives it the full width of a desk. Foaming blues and white fill the left, the red sun sits low on the right, and the fish bridges the two.

This is a new piece drawn in the woodblock tradition rather than a historical print, so the linework holds its detail at full size. At 900 × 400mm there's room for a keyboard and mouse without losing the composition underneath them.
